Severe periodontitis

A 31-year-old patient presented with complaints of severe tooth mobility and tooth loss, bad breath, and pus discharge from under the gums.
Examination revealed tooth mobility of grades 2–3, and CT scans showed bone loss affecting ½ to ⅔ of the root length — consistent with severe periodontitis.

Conservative treatment methods are effective only in mild to moderate stages. In severe cases, they may offer only short-term relief.
There are no methods to “stabilize” the teeth or regrow bone tissue around them at this stage.

The unpleasant odor and declining smile aesthetics often lead to reduced self-confidence, making it difficult for patients to interact with others without feeling self-conscious.
In cases of advanced periodontitis, the only way to eliminate the disease is through tooth extraction.
The patient underwent full tooth extraction and placement of 6 implants in the lower jaw. Six months later, 6 implants were placed in the upper jaw, including 2 transzygomatic and 2 pterygoid implants.

Prosthetic restoration was performed on the day of surgery.
