The patient came to the clinic with a single complaint — missing teeth.
However, after an external examination of the face and oral cavity, we identified several additional issues beyond tooth loss:
- Dental arch deformation — due to prolonged absence of teeth, dentoalveolar elongation developed (tooth displacement into the area of missing teeth);
- Multiple restorations (fillings) that did not meet aesthetic, hygienic, or functional standards;
- Wedge-shaped defects;
- Decreased height of the lower third of the face;
- Decreased tone of facial muscles, drooping lip corners, thinning of the vermilion border, changes in the labiomental angle, deepening of the nasolabial fold and other vertical facial lines (wrinkles) in that area.
