COMPREHENSIVE PATIENT REHABILITATION

An example of comprehensive dental rehabilitation of a patient with a bilateral terminal edentulous defect.
Dental implantation was performed in the area of the missing posterior teeth, followed by full prosthetic rehabilitation
This clinical case clearly shows the aesthetic transformation of the face following dental prosthetic treatment
The patient came to the clinic with a single complaint — missing teeth.
However, after an external examination of the face and oral cavity, we identified several additional issues beyond tooth loss:
  1. Dental arch deformation — due to prolonged absence of teeth, dentoalveolar elongation developed (tooth displacement into the area of missing teeth);
  2. Multiple restorations (fillings) that did not meet aesthetic, hygienic, or functional standards;
  3. Wedge-shaped defects;
  4. Decreased height of the lower third of the face;
  5. Decreased tone of facial muscles, drooping lip corners, thinning of the vermilion border, changes in the labiomental angle, deepening of the nasolabial fold and other vertical facial lines (wrinkles) in that area.
Thanks to the patient’s full trust and consent to the proposed comprehensive treatment plan — which included dental implantation, sinus lifting, treatment of carious and non-carious lesions of hard dental tissues, endodontic therapy, bite correction through temporary functional prosthetics on her natural teeth, followed by replacing temporary restorations with permanent all-ceramic Emax restorations and fabricating crowns supported by dental implants — we achieved a result that fully satisfied both the patient and our team in every aspect.
